Second question: who am I?

Well, I'm Keith Taylor. I'm a British guy just nudging into the wrong side of my 20's.

When I'm not watching TV or reading bad books I work as a freelance writer and run a small, only just profitable content business from here. Unless you read sales pages on Hawaiian timeshare or student loan sites it's unlikely that you've seen my work. In fact, I've only ever had one piece of 'real' writing published - a piece in TCSDaily (what used to be known as Tech Central Station) a few months back. Apart from that it's web content and sales copy all the way, baby.

If you plan to revisit this here site in the future I should warn you that the posts will depart from Ted's previous political stuff. It's probably best to assume that there will be nothing 'worthy' written on these pages from here on in - just the random rubbish that pops into my head. I've tried writing serious pieces in the past, and if you ever read any of it you'd understand why I'm steering clear.

Anyhoo, it's time for bed. I hope you'll come back soon. In the meantime, take it easy and have a good Saturday.
Welcome, one and all, to the new look [B:L'O;G]. I'm Keith Taylor, and I'll be your host for the evening.

So, let's answer the first inevitable question: if my name is Keith, why is the URL for this site tedbarlow.blogspot.com?

Well, it's quite simple. Ted started this site in 2002, back when computers were powered by clockwork and coal. He built himself quite a reputation in the blogosphere and was promptly snapped up by the Crooked Timber brain trust in 2003. Since then this site survived as an archive of Ted's early work, and Ted continued to write at Crooked Timber until he hung up his blogging hat earlier this year.

Now, Ted being the nice guy that he is he agreed to bequeath this here site to me. Sure, I could have set up a brand new site in a matter of minutes - but then this wonderful site would have gone to seed, a depressing reminder that even the best bloggers eventually run out of words, and the will to speak them.

So... my aim is to breathe new life into this here blog; to keep the content fresh while maintaining the archives that Ted worked so hard to create. You can find those archives through the links over there on the side of the page. Everything pre-2004 is Ted's, and everything after that point belongs to me. If you're ever unsure of who wrote what, a good rule of thumb is this: if it sounds intelligent and interesting, Ted wrote it. Otherwise, it was probably penned by me while drunk.

Enjoy
